Description: Paul Raphael, an Odawa of the Raven Dodem and a Peacemaker of the Grand Traverse Band, has been an instructor and facilitator at The Art of Mentoring workshop for the last four years. He has brought a powerful awareness of issues of personal growth and grief. This workshop provides you with effective tools to recognize and work through the powerful emotions that will surface in your life as you rekindle your inner "sacred fire". Doing this work within oneself is an essential development for anyone choosing to mentor others in a deep awareness of nature.

Casting Clinic to Benefit Northwest Casting for Recovery – A Flyfishing Retreat for Washington Breast Cancer Survivors

Presented by Northwest Casting for Recovery

Logistics: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at Tolt MacDonald Park in Carnation. Attend one morning or afternoon session for $50, or attend two sessions for $75. All entry fees include lunch.

Description: Join nationally acclaimed flyfishers George Cook, Jimmy LeMert, and Tony and Marilyn Vitale and a team of FFF Certified Fly-Casting Instructors on Saturday, May 9, 2004 for a day of flycasting instruction. If you are an experienced, intermediate or novice flyfisher, there is a clinic that targets your interests and skill level. Sessions include:  Beginning, Control and Presentation, Performance and Distance Casting, and Introduction to Double Haul. Private instruction is available.

Improve your casting technique while benefiting Northwest Casting for Recovery.  All proceeds from the clinic will support an upcoming fall flyfishing retreat for Washington breast cancer survivors. This nationally recognized not-for-profit program was designed to help women with breast cancer experience physical, emotional, and spiritual healing through flyfishing retreats held in natural settings.

For: Land Use Policy Makers, Developers, Real Estate Agents, Appraisers, Teachers, Streamside and Wetland Property Owners, and anyone interested in stream & wetland ecology.

Description: May in western Washington is the season of peak activity for songs and nesting behavior of birds. Through shared observations and group routines, participants in this weekend program will be given new keys to understanding the incredible natural alarm system called "bird language".

Family Program: Seeing Through the Eyes of the Birds
