File Petition to Reform WDFW's HPA process
Efforts to preserve wild salmon and water quality are unsuccessful when government agencies lack the political will and financial support to do so. This has been a chronic problem, endemic to all agencies charged with managing and protecting our natural resources, and WDFW’s failed Hydraulic Project Approval (HPA) process is one example. Washington Trout has for years attempted to work with WDFW to reform the HPA process, unfortunately with little success. PEER’s in-depth assessment of this broken process is excellent, conservative in its statements and comprehensive in its scope. This petition is a powerful and much needed tool for confronting WDFW over its failed implementation of the HPA program. To read the petition click on the headline.
